Postcards from...

The cities that inspire us.

  • Lisbon, Portugal

    Lisbon, Portugal

    Our inspiration:

The architecture and Azulejos tiles inspire our prints and colour palettes, from florals to geometrics.

    Our vintage favourites:

The Feira da Ladra flea market in Alfama (known as the thieves market), the retro store and cafe, A Outra Face Da Lua ‘the other face of the moon’, in Baixa-Chiado and opposite, the more refined vintage shop, Viuva Alegre, a beautifully presented collection of clothing and accessories.

    Eat/ drink/ sleep:

The eclectic, industrial chic Decadente restaurant in The Independente Hostel, close to the Miradouro in the Bairro Alto. From hostel to exclusive hotel… the neo–moorish Palacete Chafariz D'ei Rei in Alfama with its unique mix of history and modernity set against panoramic views.
  • Paris, France

    Paris, France

    Our inspiration:

Non-stop people watching; the willowy icons of style who walk around the streets of Paris.

    Our vintage favourites:

The flea markets at Porte de Cligancourt, for the vintage fashion, antiques and collectables, plus the interior styling of the tiny stalls, makes this an aesthetic pleasure to visit. The beautifully curated Célia Darling on rue Henry Monnier is our favourite of the vintage boutiques.

    Eat/ drink/ sleep:

Au Petit Fer a Cheval:The horse shoe bar, the most classic Parisian cafe/ bar in Le Marais. Take a seat by the window and feel like you're on the set of a French film. Le Comptoir General: a secret entrance takes you into a warehouse sized, off-beat bar full of eclectic treasures, Colonial styling, African souvenirs, a bric-a-brac book store and jazz soundtrack. Ditch the hotel in favour of an Airbnb apartment in Montorgueil- Marais, between Marais and Louvre, a bright, light Parisian mix of design and flea market furniture.
  • Los Angeles, USA

    Los Angeles, USA

    Inspiration:

Rin Tanaka’s Inspiration LA event for vintage enthusiasts from around the world and vintage collectors like Doris Raymond at her Hollywood boutique, The Way We Wore.

    Our vintage favourites:

Sunbeam Vintage, a warehouse of mid century vintage furniture in Highland Park. Paper Moon on Hollywood Blvd, for truly historic men’s and womenswear. Playclothes out in Burbank, specilalizing in fashion from the 1940’s to the 1960’s and vintage homewares

    Eat/ drink/ sleep:

Eggsluts(they had us at the name) in Grand Central Market for the best egg-based breakfast you’ll ever eat (be prepared to queue). The eclectic Ace Hotel DTLA with its style references from Frank Lloyd Wright to 1970’s punks and Hollywood starlets and everything in between.
  • New York, USA

    New York, USA

    Our inspiration:

Street style at the flea markets, rockabilly dancers at the Rebel Night NYC and the vintage lovers at the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show.

    Our vintage favourites:

the Brooklyn Flea at Fort Greene (fashion, interiors and collectables), Shareen Vintage in Chelsea, the second floor loft space full of meticulously organised vintage gems (no boys allowed!) and obviously, What Goes Around Comes Around on West Broadway, for the finest, luxury vintage. Lastly, the four Olde Good Things stores for architectural and industrial antiques.

    Eat/ drink/ sleep:

Any of Keith McNally’s restaurants but particularly Schiller’s on the Lower East Side. Milano’s dive bar on East Housten for its no-frills authenticity. The Wythe Hotel, a renovated factory on the Brooklyn waterfront to see Manhattan from the other side, or the Bowery for its art deco inspired lobby and bright, light rooms.
  • Milan, Italy

    Milan, Italy

    Inspiration:

The Italian sense of style = the chicest of street style. We also head to Parma to visit the Mercanteinfiera, for vintage interior ideas that influence our collections by colour, texture and historical styling.

    Our vintage favourites:

Madame Pauline, An Italian vintage boutique with a hint of Parisian style...even the tree lined street it's on (Foro Buonaparte) reminds you of Paris. Cavalli e Nastri at three locations in central Milan with the brightest, boldest colour and print. 20134 Lambrate in the ever evolving, design district of Ventura.

    Eat/ drink/ sleep:

The Yard Hotel Our dream hotel, full of vintage collectables, eclectic room sets and fashion photography books piled up to the ceiling. Plus everything you see is for sale, so if you fancy coming home with a vintage Cinzano drinks table and umbrella, you most certainly can. Be sure to have cocktails at The Doping Club
